The fortification works during the Napoleonic era of the upper part of the Rocca d’Anfo, also included the Belvedere Battery as control of the northern area of the valley. In the historical documentation we read: ‘The mastic of the Belvedere Battery was also made, which uncovered the approaches and the escarpment of the Tirolo part and the establishment of the Battery towards the Tirolo that ran the escarpment of the Risalti (today known as the Tirolo Battery) and the Casemate (today known as the Rolando Battery) and then the construction of the wall faces that were to see the approaches of the Fortress towards the Tirolo.

The structure was not finished until the end of the 19th century, acquiring a different shape and finish from Liédot’s original design.
